We were not hungry so we ordered a dish to share for two plus we each ordered fresh pure juice and kangkong. The waiter looked annoyed and asked why we did not order one dish each of duck. We explained that it is an odd hour and we have had our lunch. The food came and we loved the duck. It was crispy and juicy. We also loved the orange pure juice so we ordered another 2 glasses of those. When the additional 2 came the taste was different. We all tasted it and acknowledged that the taste is a little like vitamin C effervescent. We asked the waitress why it tastes different and that maybe this time it wasn't the pure juice. Frankly, I don't think you have missed too much.. Crispy duck many years ago was meaty and delicious. And it became a famous food because it used to be good. Now it's mostly just famous for being famous. There is such demand for duck now, the farmers are harvesting them when they are very small and have very little meat. To me, you can make almost the same thing yourself by marinating a duck in some spices and then putting it in a deep fryer until the duck turns very very dark brown..
